During this process we carry out therapeutic activities that are individually chosen and meaningful for everyday life. These activities should accompany the persons concerned in their daily routine. Since our nervous system has the ability to constantly develop, it is possible to activate new capacities after damage has been occurred thanks to this so-called plasticity of the brain.
We promote neuroplasticity through therapeutic stimuli and train movement sequences and transitions using targeted techniques.
For example, we practise together how to use a paralysed side of the body for everyday activities such as eating, washing or dressing. The general goal of the therapy is to support those affected in their individual learning process and to increase their quality of life and independence.
Thus, with the Bobath approach, we support patients, for example after a stroke or in the case of a neurodegenerative disease such as multiple sclerosis, in relearning lost functions.
