In addition, it can have a regulating effect on your nervous system and positively influence internal organs. The connective tissue performs countless important tasks, for example as a protective cover against mechanical influences such as shocks and blows as well as against chemical, physical and thermal stimuli that are externally supplied to your body.

It also stabilises all the internal organs and regulates the body's heat emission and circulation. Our treatment incorporates a variety of other concepts and techniques, for example the fascial distortion model, spiral dynamics or neurodynamic concepts.

With the help of fascia therapy, we loosen local adhesions and tensions in your connective tissue. To do this, we use special grip techniques to mobilise your skin against the subcutaneous connective tissue.

Fascia Therapy

By returning the tissue to its original position, these complaints are eliminated or at least significantly alleviated. The method has been developed since 1990 by the emergency physician and osteopath Stephen Typaldos in order to find an alternative to conventional treatment methods. Since the connective tissue had previously been considered relatively insignificant, Typaldos' findings gave rise to novel diagnoses and therapeutic approaches.

This model has a special approach regarding looking at physical complaints such as pain or restricted movement. Here, complaints are traced back to deformations or twists (distortions) of the connective tissue.

FASCIAL DISTORTION MODEL (FDM)

If, for example, the patients show the same distortion in several parts of the body, according to FDM it is the same problem in different places – thus it is the same diagnosis. There is a specific manual technique for each diagnosis.

Under certain circumstances, the treatment can be painful, as our therapists have to use all their strength depending on the distortion. However, pain reduction and an improvement in mobility occur immediately after the treatment. A side effect may be muscle soreness in the treated areas.

The FDM diagnosis includes six different distortions and is mainly made on the basis of the patients' complaints.

Conversely, we can treat muscle shortening and tension through the targeted manipulation of shortened or agglutinated fasciae. Because of their high density of sensory nerves, fasciae can be influenced by manual pressure.

Myofascial release techniques are the manual manipulation of the fascia-muscle system. This form of therapy is based on the knowledge that fasciae cause shortening and tension of the muscles through active contraction.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUES

By doing so, the fasciae can once again perform their various functions in the movement system and interact optimally with the muscles. As a result, we increase your well-being and your performance and at the same time reduce the risk of overstraining and injury.

We use this to improve the blood and lymph flow and thus restore your immune defence as well as the exchange of substances and information in your tissue.
