THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS ARE:

Craniomandibular dysfunction refers to a clinical picture of the jaw and cranial functional apparatus, which can manifest itself in many different and sometimes very interlinked symptoms.

IN CLOSE COOPERATION WITH YOUR REFERRING DOCTOR (E.G. GENERAL PRACTITIONER, ENT SPECIALIST, DENTIST OR ORTHODONTIST), WE WILL DRAW UP A SPECIFIC TREATMENT PLAN ADAPTED TO YOUR CONDITION.

Permanent tension caused by stress or pain is relieved by increased muscle tension in the jaw joint, which in turn increases the pressure on the jaw joint. In addition, the masseter muscle is the strongest muscle in our body.

The temporomandibular joint is the only joint in the skull that also has a very high bite force. No other joint in the body has to transmit such a strong force. Not only when chewing and grinding, but also when speaking and even breathing, the jaw controls and regulates complex coordinated movements.

In addition, the temporomandibular joint is of particular importance for the statics of our body. The effects of a disturbed interaction between the upper and lower jaw, skull and cervical spine are immense and affected patients often experience severe pain and discomfort.

These symptoms are often the result of altered movement in the jaw and masticatory apparatus. It is not without reason that the human jaw joint is also called the "lightning rod of stress".

The bones of the skull and face are connected to each other by so-called sutures. Disorders can occur in these connections and in the associated muscles and nerves.

On the basis of a detailed examination of your complaints, we first concentrate on the skull structures, muscles and nerves involved. In order to further narrow down the causes, we carry out specific tests, whereby other regions of the body are also considered as possible causes of the problem.

CRAFTA therapy is a treatment concept that explicitly deals with complaints and functional disorders in the head, neck, face and jaw area.

CRAFTA THERAPY

On the other hand, we work with individual exercises and, in most cases, with changing behaviours such as one-sided chewing or certain postural habits.

On one hand the subsequent treatment consists, of manual techniques, e.g. to mobilise or stabilise the temporomandibular joint and the cranial connections, to stretch muscles and to promote blood circulation to nerve structures.
