It was developed in the 1940s by the neurologist Dr. H. Kabat and the physiotherapist M. Knott and has been permanently adapted to the latest state of knowledge over the years. The approach is mainly used in neurology, but is also very effective and frequently used in orthopaedics and geriatrics.
Through the targeted use of resistance or stretching during the exercises, we promote your stability, mobility and coordination. Like all approaches to physical therapy, PNF aims to maintain and, if possible, improve your abilities and to support you in coping with everyday life.
The treatment is based on the principles of motor learning, whereby we practise everyday movements and movement transitions in three-dimensional patterns together with you.
