This way, we utilize your body’s natural repair mechanisms in this specifically area in motion and support your body in healing itself. In addition to a variety of orthopaedic diseases and inflammations, we also use shock wave therapy to treat chronic tension, old muscle injuries and scarring, as well as for muscular regeneration in competitive athletes.

In shock wave therapy we work with sound waves which causes vibrations in your tissue. The energy released increases your blood circulation and stimulates the metabolic process.

RADIAL SHOCK WAVE THERAPY

One treatment takes about 10 minutes, where on average of three treatments in a one-week interval are required. The application may cause slight pain and minor bruising. However, these are well tolerated and should ideally be accompanied by ice cooling therapy.

  • Muscular regeneration in competitive athletes before and after competitions

  • Treatment of old muscle injuries and scarring, for example after a muscle fibre tear

Both, young people (due to frequent computer activity) and older people (due to degenerative changes in the spine) experience chronic tension in the muscles adjacent to the spine. The so-called trigger points of the musculature are painful when pressure is applied and they radiate the pain.

  • Chronic tension in back or neck muscles:

Inflammation of the bursa (so-called trochanteric bursitis) can occur, especially in the area of the lateral hip, with increased strain or when lying down at night.

  • Bursitis

These complaints manifest themselves mainly during sport or frequent walking and standing at work through a morning pain on start-up in the area of the heel and the sole of the foot, as well as pain after prolonged exertion.

  • Plantar heel pain / heel spurs

This condition occurs less often in sports than in everyday overuse (for example using a computer mouse or carrying heavy loads) of the flexor and extensor tendons of the forearm. Which results in a chronic tendinitis.

  • Tennis- / Golfer's elbow

Chronic inflammation of the rotator cuff of the shoulder results in an impingement phenomenon of the humeral head under the acromion. This often leads to inflammation and calcification of the so-called supraspinatus tendon, which is responsible for the abduction of the arm and often causes pain during this movement.

  • Calcified shoulder/impingement of the shoulder

Running in particular, also ball sports, could lead to overloading the Achilles tendon and thus to inflammation of the tendon and gliding structures.

  • Inflammation of the Achilles tendon
